My Name is Helena Afiriyie-Asirifi. I was born in Accra, Ghana. The last born of 5 and only girl to Mr Kwame Awuku Afriyie ( First General Secretary for CPP and editor of the Daily Newspaper for Kwame Nkrumah) of Tutu - Akwapim and Mrs Joana Annoh-Afriyie. My up bringing was from city to city due to my fathers job. My teenage years were between Suhum and Kumasi and young adult years in Accra. With our family back-ground and having a grandfather who was a pastor (Rev.Edward Asare Afriyie) of Tutu Presbyterian Church, I was also in the Presbyterian Church Choir at Suhum and it was there that an Elderly woman ( Madam Jane Oparebea) began to instill in me how to stand and sing before a congregation. She will play the Piano and I will be doing the singing. My Father and Mother were both into singing in we were singing mostly Hymns as a family. I got trained as a Nurse from Ridge Hospital, Accra and got married and joined my husband in Nigeria where we both got saved in 1982 and started our new life in Him. First in a Baptist Choir then joined Faith Lifters Band in Living Faith Church in Kaduna - Nigeria with Rev. David Oyedepo as my first Charismatic Pastor who use to take us to other states to minister with him. I started writing songs from that time then and we moved to USA. I went to Tulsa -Oklahoma where I was hosted by the late Pastor Ini Omakwu and his wife Pastor Sarah Omakwu who also introduced me to Dr Nicku Kyungu Mordi and Her Husband George Mordi who are a blessing to me to date. I have lived in the Washington metropolitan area and have been pastored by Pastors Stephen Gyermeh and Kwasi Gyimah of Church of the Living God from 1987-1998 and Dr Anthony A.Turkson of World Missions Ministries from 1998 to date where the teachings of God's Word has inspired and become life to me and has brought forth these songs and many more yet to be published. I have been privileged to go on Missions trip to Jamaica with Pastor Turkson. I have also traveled with the Ministry of Dr Mordi and I am the Co-ordinator for Africa/America for Jesus 3rd Saturday Intercessory Prayer Movement, My travel with Dr Mordi has taken me to Tulsa, New York and New Jersey. We traveled to Tanzania and South Africa for Africa Transformation & Strategic Conference; went to Israel for Prayer for the Nation where we experienced miracles as Worship and Prayers drew people to the Lord. My heart's desire is to allow the Lord to sing through me to touch many lives as I continue to pray for th Nations.
